WINTER FITNESS MOTIVATION TIPS BY VELOCITY HEALTH AND FITNESS

     

 

  1. Exercise

 When it’s cold outside, it’s dark by 5, and you have to put on your snow boots and warm up the car before going to the gym, it’s easy to lose desire to maintain working out. Working exercise, on the other hand, assists to improve your immune system and keep you healthy. So make those workouts a priority in your calendar.

2. Consume plenty of water

 It is always crucial to stay hydrated, no matter what time of year it is. Carry a water bottle with you everywhere you go and keep drinking.

3. VITAMIN D

This might seem like an odd place to start, but vitamin D is essential for feeling our best. This vitamin is usually produced by our bodies when we get direct sunlight on our skin, however outside of summer months, especially when we’re spending more time indoors we just don’t see enough sun.

Vitamin D helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body. These nutrients are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy.

Between October and early March, you should be taking a supplement. The NHS recommends 10 micrograms (400 IU) of vitamin D a day to keep your body healthy.

4. If possible, get some sun

 According to research, obtaining enough vitamin D is critical. Try to get outside on a lovely day or arrange a beach trip during the frigid winter months if you can dress correctly.

5. Take care with your intake

 You must be aware of what you put into your body, especially around the holidays. Also, keep in mind that beverages contain a lot of extra calories, so be careful what you put in the black hole!

6.  GRAB A WORKOUT BUDDY

Staying motivated to exercise in the winter — or at other time of year — is much simpler when you have a companion by your side. (And, of course, someone to call and wake you up if you sleep through your alarm.)

You’ll hold each other responsible if you schedule a run, some gym time, or fitness courses throughout the week. Nobody likes to be a no-show when their friend is counting on them.

7.  USE THE COLD WEATHER TO YOUR ADVANTAGE

Snowy, freezing cold, blizzardy weather shouldn’t get you down — you should actually use it to your advantage. Ditch your routine once in a while and try a fun winter-inspired workout instead.

Everything from skiing and ice skating to sledding (and running back up that big hill!) will get your heart rate up.

Plus, getting to do something fun and sometimes childlike is a great way to relieve stress and make sure your workout willpower doesn’t die off throughout the season
